Disclaimer
Everything on this site is for educational purposes. It's here to show how a rules-based trading process is built and maintained, not to tell you what to trade.
This is not trading or investment advice. Nothing on joesellati.com is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, option, currency or other asset, or to use any particular strategy. Any decision you make with your money is yours alone.
Who I am, and who I'm not
I'm an individual trader sharing my own process. I am not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner, tax professional or attorney, and I'm not licensed to give personalized financial advice. Using this site, reading my notes or emailing me does not create an advisory or fiduciary relationship. Nothing here takes your goals, finances, tax situation or tolerance for risk into account.
Trading involves real risk
- Options and forex are risky and aren't suitable for everyone. You can lose some or all of the money you put in.
- Some strategies discussed here, such as selling naked options or trading leveraged currencies, can lose more than the money in the trade.
- Past results, back-tests, hit rates and example trades don't predict future results. A rule that has worked can stop working.
- Only trade with money you can afford to lose, and understand a position fully before you open it.
About the desks and tools
The live desks and the Options Atlas are educational tools, not trading platforms. They don't place orders and they don't know anything about your account.
- Market data comes from third parties and may be delayed (up to 15 minutes or more), incomplete or wrong.
- The Options Atlas is a mathematical model. Prices, Greeks, probabilities and buying-power figures are estimates based on the inputs you enter and simplifying assumptions. Real quotes, fills and your broker's margin requirements will differ.
- The entry checks, exit plans and defense notes describe how I manage my own trades. A "pass" means a setup meets my rules, not that it's a good trade for you.
I trade what I write about
I may hold positions in the markets, securities and strategies discussed on this site, and I may change or close them at any time without notice. Don't assume my positions match anything you read here.
No guarantees
I try to keep this site accurate, but I don't guarantee that anything on it is complete, current or error-free. You use the site and its tools at your own risk, and I'm not responsible for any loss that results from relying on it. Links to other sites are provided for convenience; I don't control or endorse their content.
Do your own work
Check anything you read here against other sources, and talk to a licensed financial professional before making investment decisions. If you're new to options, paper-trade first.
